Stretch flangeability of AHSS automotive grades versus cutting tool clearance, wear, angle and radial strain gradients

چکیده
Abstract Stretch flangeability tests are performed on cold rolled AHSS automotive steel grades for crack sensitivity evaluation. The ISO16630 procedure is used with different cutting edge conditions including clearance, tool wear, angle and hole expansion punch geometry. Among all influence parameters, the clearance considered to be most critical control. Low (<10%) high (>20%) clearances significantly detrimental ratio (HER). An optimum in HER reached around 15% clearance. Both wear die each affect negatively values comparison new sharp tools. Varying concave convex punching geometries instead of orthogonal has a rather negative effect stretch due irregular cut quality along perimeter excessive configuration. geometry (flat R25, biaxial Nakajima R25 vs. 60° conical) also investigated. (true) proportional FE simulated logarithmic radial strain gradient at fracture.

Stretch-flangeability of strong multiphase steels
Stretch-flangeability measures the ability of a material to form into a complex shape. The parameter is often related to simple properties derived from tensile tests. An attempt is made here to discover the best way to exploit tensile test data to indicate flangeabilty. It is found that the ultimate tensile strength of steel is the single most important criterion that correlates with stretch-fl...
متن کاملCutting tool wear estimation for turning
The experimental investigation on cutting tool wear and a model for tool wear estimation is reported in this paper. The changes in the values of cutting forces, vibrations and acoustic emissions with cutting tool wear are recoded and analyzed. On the basis of experimental results a model is developed for tool wear estimation in turning operations using Adaptive Neuro fuzzy Inference system (ANF...

متن کاملCutting Forces and Tool Wear Investigation for Face Milling of Bimetallic Composite Parts Made of Aluminum and Cast Iron Alloys
Bimetallic parts are used in many industries for weight and cost reduction of workpieces working under high loads and wear. One application for this type of composite material is in automotive industry. In this work the tool wear and cutting forces in the face milling of bimetallic parts made of aluminum and cast iron were investigated. A356 and GG25 alloys that are common materials for bimetal...
متن کاملCharacterizations of cutting tool flank wear-land contact
Metal deposition at the tool flank wear-land during machining is a common phenomenon, especially in machining aluminum alloys and annealed teels. The cause of metal deposit has not been studied and the characteristics of the wear-land and deposit contact are not completely known. In his study, a turning test was conducted using tungsten carbide (WC) tools with pre-generated wear-land to machine...
